Ingredients in Mojito Mocktails
This simple summer drink is easy to throw together for a backyard barbecue, summer bridal shower or any evening out enjoying the patio. Here’s all you need:
- Signature SELECT Soleil Sparkling Water – We used the lime flavor but you can use any flavor that you think would be a good fit. You can also use regular club soda, seltzer water, Sprite, or other lemon lime soda if that’s what you have on hand.
- Mint leaves – A fresh sprig of mint is what gives mojito mocktail drink a delicious fresh flavor. I was so excited to be able to use the fresh mint leaves from my garden for this recipe! You can also find mint sprigs in the produce section of your grocery store.
- Lime – A mojito isn’t a mojito (even a virgin mojito) without lime slices. Lime gives the drink a nice little “zing”. Use the whole thing: fresh lime juice in the drink and a lime wedge or lime wheels for garnish. Lime slices can also be stirred into the drink for added color.
- Sugar or sweetener – Typically mojitos have a little added sweetener added to them, whether it be honey syrup, sugar, a simple syrup made from cane sugar and water, agave syrup, or any natural sugar-free sweetener. You don’t HAVE to have sweetener but it makes it more of a true mojito.
- Ice cubes – these are optional, but I love serving my mojito mocktail drink extra cold.
Optional Ingredients
While a classic mojito mocktail doesn’t have any fruit or extra ingredients, you can toss in any beautiful fruit or juices to add color and flavor.
- Berries – We took the liberty of adding blackberries and raspberries to our mojito mocktails for a Fourth of July party and loved the look and taste of them.
- Fruit juice – Add a splash of pineapple juice, orange or other favorite juice to your mojito for extra flavor.
- Jalapeño – toss in a little extra spice by dicing a jalapeno to add to your mojito. Spicy sweet is a delicious combination for so many drink recipes.
- Herbs – garnish with fresh mint or other herbs like cilantro or rosemary.
- Limeade – Make the drink with a bit of limeade or lemonade for a tart flavor.
What Is A Mojito?
A Mojito is a cocktail originating from Havana, Cuba that traditionally consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. I have never had classic mojitos (we here at FFR don’t drink), so I can’t make an accurate comparison to the original, but I can say even without the rum the combination of sweetness, citrus, and mint flavors makes this a delicious summertime drink.
What is A Mocktail?
A “mocktail” is another name for a non-alcoholic drink, or in other words, a virgin mojito recipe. Signature Select Soleil sparkling water is a great substitution for drinks such as a mojito because it has good “fizz” and a light flavor. We used the lime flavor for our mojito mocktails but you can use lemon, watermelon or any of their tasty flavors, including their new flavors, including Peach, Pure, Apple, Pineapple, Caffeine Lime, Caffeine Blood Orange, and Caffeine Grapefruit.

Steps to the Perfect Mojito Mocktail
- Add mint, any sweetener of choice, and a squeeze of lime to a tall glass or a jar.
- Use a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to muddle, or mush, the ingredients together in the bottom of the glass.
- Add ice, berries, and lime flavored Signature SELECT Soleil Sparkling Water.
- Stir well with a spoon or throw all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well to combine and serve immediately.
Make Your Own Simple Syrup
Classic simple syrup is typically just one part water to one part sugar. I usually combine a cup water with a cup sugar. Place both ingredients in a small saucepan and boil until the sugar is dissolved completely. Simple syrup is perfect to add to drinks and other recipes. And it keeps nicely in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I love adding this to my non-alcoholic mojito mocktail recipe.
Popular Mojito Variations
- Cojito (aka Coconut Mojito) – Add a splash of cream of coconut or coconut milk to put a tropical spin on your berry mocktail
- Mango Mojito – Add a bit of mango syrup or concentrate, or even fresh, sliced mango
- Strawberry Mojito Mocktail – Add fresh or crushed strawberries to the mix to add a little extra sweetness. Garnish with a large, juicy fresh strawberry.
- Blood Orange – Use blood orange Signature SELECT Soleil Sparkling Water
