Mickey Mouse Rips Dad’s Phone Out of His Hands, Forces Him To Parent Unruly Child

Social media is abuzz over a video of Mickey Mouse allegedly correcting some bad parenting during the Halloween season at Disneyland Resort.

A viral discussion began after X (formerly known as Twitter) user @TheFigen_ shared a video of an encounter with Mickey Mouse on Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park. In the footage, a little boy ran up to and collided with the Disney character performer from behind as his father filmed.

Mickey Mouse mimed looking for the boy’s parents. After character attendants pointed out his father, Mickey grabbed his hand, forced him to put his phone away, and joined his hand with his son’s. The Disney character performer used hand motions to tell the father to watch his son, so that he couldn’t run away, and kissed the boy on the head.

It’s not Mickey Mouse who has to teach you how to be a parent.

As Mickey Mouse walked away, he again reminded the father to watch his son, then shrugged at other Disney Park guests before heading backstage with his character attendants.

The video sparked a conversation on X, where many chastized the boy’s parents for filming the moment instead of protecting their son and the Disney character performer portraying Mickey Mouse.

“When you need a cartoon mouse to teach you how to be a good parent,” @LeviNotAckerman wrote.

“Man Mickey did the right thing, take that phone down and get yo kid!” @WGMeets replied.

Some called for Disneyland Resort to ban the boy’s parents.

“I would be disgustingly embarrassed if this ever happened to me,” said @HueyJackNation. “I would say thats almost grounds for removal from the park. Its a liability to the child and the park.”

Some Defend Parents

Despite all the backlash from Disney Parks fans, some social media users argued that Mickey Mouse overstepped his boundaries in this situation. From @lonelyfireflyX:

No one’s handing out parenting lessons like it’s a cartoon. Real-life parenting is messy, challenging, and full of trial and error definitely not something Mickey Mouse can teach you. You learn by doing, stumbling, and figuring it out along the way.

“Unpopular opinion: A tiny little boy runs in to Mickey & he calls the dad out & makes an *ss out of him,” said @SmokinApesNFT. “Do better Mickey. This is supposed to be the most wonderful place on Earth.”
