First Responders Flood Disneyland After Injured Teen Gets Stuck on Roller Coaster
Emergency crews descended on Disneyland Park’s Matterhorn Bobsleds on December 28 after a teenager with a leg injury couldn’t exit his ride vehicle. The rescue became more complicated when the Disney Park guest’s family discovered that his electric mobility scooter had run out of power.

A family member documented the unusual rescue on TikTok as Anaheim firefighters worked to extract the trapped teenager. User @sydney.burghardt shared footage showing emergency personnel carrying her brother through the Matterhorn Bobsleds exit after he became stuck in the sled-shaped ride vehicle.

Fortunately, the boy’s injury didn’t result from his ride on the Matterhorn Bobsleds, so the family maintained a positive attitude throughout his rescue.
“Say ‘Happiest Place on Earth,'” the teenager’s father joked.

Firefighters joined in, encouraging him to “smile” while they transported him to safety. After successfully transferring him to a working ECV, the crew presented the theme park guest with a special button in recognition of his bravery throughout the ordeal.
Unknown Cause
The TikTok post doesn’t explain exactly why the teenager couldn’t leave his ride vehicle. Either the Matterhorn Bobsleds malfunctioned and required the evacuation of all Disney Park guests, or the teen’s leg injury prevented him from exiting normally when the vehicle reached the unload platform.

Whatever triggered the response, Disneyland Park closed the roller coaster temporarily while emergency crews worked. The attraction has since reopened and resumed regular operations.
Guest Safety Reminders
Visitors experiencing unexpected stops on Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort attractions should remain seated and leave their safety restraints intact. Guests must follow Disney cast member directions while evacuating and never venture into restricted zones without explicit permission.
