Disney To Reimagine Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle, New Look Revealed
Walt Disney World Resort has announced a major reimagining of the iconic Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park. At Destination D23 on Sunday, Walt Disney Imagineering revealed that the castle will soon get a fresh new look inspired by its classic design from 1971.

During the “Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles” panel on August 31, Walt Disney World Resort revealed that the newly reimagined Cinderella Castle would be painted using a color palette inspired by the original look that debuted when Magic Kingdom opened in 1971. According to Disney Parks Blog, the updated design will feature grays, creams, blues, and gold accents, all aimed at highlighting the castle’s intricate architecture and giving it a more timeless feel.

This announcement follows years of fan requests for a return to the castle’s original color scheme after the pink 50th anniversary color scheme introduced in 2021. While the design will not drastically change the Cinderella Castle structure, the new palette will offer a fresh look that harkens back to the castle’s early days.
Walt Disney Imagineers are still finalizing the specifics of the Cinderella Castle reimagining, but Disney Parks fans can expect more information to be revealed soon, including when the work will begin and how it might affect park operations. Last week, Walt Disney World Resort filed a construction permit for work near the castle, but it’s unclear if that filing is related to this project.
From the 50th anniversary paint job to the 25th anniversary cake overlay, Cinderella Castle has had quite a few makeovers over the years. Which look was your favorite? Share your opinion with Disney Dining in the comments!
