A group of MAGA (Make America Great Again) Trump supporters has planned a park-wide takeover at Disneyland Resort on February 28, the same day as a scheduled “Mini Gay Days” event. Here’s what guests need to know before visiting the Southern California Disney parks that day.
Mini Gay Days at Disneyland Resort
The third-party LGBTQIA+ community event Gay Days Anaheim has called Disneyland Resort its home since 1998, several years after the first Gay Days Orlando event at Walt Disney World Resort. Each year, LGBTQIA+ guests, allies, and their families flood the Disney parks, wearing matching red shirts to show support for the community. It took until 2023 for Disneyland Resort to hold its first-ever official Pride event, Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite.
The popularity of Gay Days led the organization to offer a second, smaller event in late winter/early spring each year: Mini Gay Days. Although a full schedule hasn’t been released, the official website confirms that this event will occur on February 28, 2026, and participants are eligible for discounted Disney theme park tickets and hotel rooms.
“MAGA Invasion”
This year’s Mini Gay Days event at Disneyland Resort might look a bit different. According to the official website for “805 Patriots,” the Donald Trump-supporting group has planned a “MAGA Invasion” at the Southern California Disney parks on February 28, 2026. The organization is selling shirts that read “Make Disney Great Again” and encourages guests to “stand for tradition and make your voice heard.”

Many Disney Parks fans suggested sabotaging the group, whether by preventing them from selling the “Make Disney Great Again” merchandise or booking Disney Park Pass reservations for February 28 to keep them from members of the 805 Patriots.
“I emailed Disney’s permissions team the link to their merch for review,” u/_LeafyLady commented. “Ya know, just in case they didn’t get authorization for using their IP…”

Others suggested that Disneyland Resort should prevent members of the MAGA group from entering, especially since Mini Gay Days is already scheduled for February 28.

Still, most Disney Parks fans were simply disappointed that the event had been planned at all.

I’m glad that is happening. I’m sick and tired of Disneyland having so many Gay Days celebration. Does Disney really have to celebrate Mini Gay Days in Feb, the whole month of June, and again in September? Just do one celebration for the year. I hope that in due time Disney theme parks collapse for good!

These folk are not hurting you in the least, yet you advocate an event to harass and possibly hurt some patrons of a business.
You probably had ancestors who bled/died so that Americans could be FREE, not just fit some image YOU have of what is free. Our veterans also fought those who sought to harm the population you advocate harming. They would be horrified.

This is a concerning report about what appears to be a deliberate attempt to create conflict and tension at a place known for family fun. Scheduling a politically charged event to directly coincide with a established celebration of inclusivity feels intentionally provocative, not coincidental.
Beyond public statements, what specific measures is Disneyland prepared to take to ensure the safety of all its guests and protect the park’s environment from disruption, ensuring that one group’s event does not infringe upon the experience of another?
