The classic EPCOT attraction Living With the Land is now out of action – and it’s earlier than Disney originally announced.
Living With the Land is one of EPCOT’s longest-running attractions, offering a slow-moving boat ride through the park’s working greenhouses. The experience explores sustainable agriculture, highlighting hydroponics, aquaculture, and soil-free growing systems developed by Disney’s horticulture team, reflecting EPCOT’s original theme: the celebration of human achievement.

Its greenhouses supply ingredients directly to EPCOT restaurants such as Garden Grill – one of the Disney park’s best restaurants – and Sunshine Seasons, making the attraction part of Walt Disney World’s broader sustainability efforts.
For the most passionate fans, the Behind the Seeds Tour, a one-hour backstage walking tour of the greenhouses of the Land Pavilion, provides the opportunity to learn even more about the future of agriculture.
Disney Debuts Living With the Land Alternative Early
Despite the lack of IP and thrills, Living With the Land remains an EPCOT staple. That’s especially true during the holidays when EPCOT replaces the classic attraction with a more festive alternative: Living With the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses.

This provides guests with the opportunity to “celebrate the most bountiful time of year with a special voyage through greenhouses decorated with dazzling lights.”
This typically debuts in late November with the beginning of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Disney started adding decor to the attraction earlier this week. While Glimmering Greenhouses was initially set to open this year on November 28, EPCOT has surprised guests by debuting the attraction early.
Living With the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses is now available to all Walt Disney World Resort guests, nearly one week ahead of schedule.

That means guests can take their cruise through twinkling lights while admiring festive touches such as hidden Mickeys with reindeer noses and antlers and holiday wreaths.
Guests can also book the Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses Tour, which puts a festive spin on the standard Behind the Seeds Tour for $59 per person.
Living With the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses is open until December 30, 2025, alongside other elements of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. This includes Santa Goofy Greeting at The Odyssey, a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus at CommuniCore Hall, JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season (a tribute to both Christmas and Kwanzaa), and Holiday Storytellers around World Showcase.

Arguably, EPCOT’s festive highlight is the array of holiday treats dotted around the park. This year’s Holiday Kitchens include Le Marché de Noël Holiday Kitchen in the France Pavilion, Yukon Holiday Kitchen in the Canada Pavilion, and Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen in the Japan Pavilion.
