For many, a visit to the Central Florida resort is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, whether it’s locals making the most of their Annual Passes or tourists traveling from across the country. But for Chynna Higgins and her family, the journey itself became an ordeal they never saw coming.

On the morning of February 18, 2025, Higgins, a Massachusetts resident, was en route to Walt Disney World with her partner and children when an object suddenly struck her in the head.

Reported by Click Orlando, she described the shocking moment: “Next thing I know, I hear a bang and it doesn’t register that I’ve been like hit. And the pain kicks in, and I grab my kids’ father, and I hold onto him. I was like, ‘I think I just got hit by a rock.’”

After pulling over and calling 911, the severity of the situation became clear. A hole in the windshield, blood from her wound, and an unexpected culprit—the object that struck her turned out to be a Milwaukee battery, which had landed in her lap.

As emergency responders arrived, Higgins worked to reassure her children, who were understandably shaken by the incident. “My kids were freaking out,” Higgins told News 6 (via Click Orlando). “I was just trying to calm them down.”

According to the outlet, her injury required 11 stitches. Despite a hospital visit, a towing bill, and medical advice to avoid rides that could worsen her condition, Higgins and her family pressed on with their Disney plans.

The experience left a lasting impression, and Higgins admitted she may have startled some guests at the park due to her visible facial injuries. While the exact origin of the flying battery remains a mystery, the ordeal is a stark reminder of how unpredictable travel can be.

He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
