Is Real Lightsaber Fighting Coming to Walt Disney World?

Ok, so not exactly “real” lightsaber fighting, since I doubt Disney’s insurance would cover such a thing, but the most realistic lightsaber experiences that we’ve ever seen look to likely be in our near future with the opening of Star Wars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

 There was a patent application put in by Disney Enterprises for an “Audience Interaction Projection System”.  Based on the images and information associated with the patent, it appears to use drone technology and image capturing to actually reflect laser beams to resemble the light saber and follow the movements.

This looks to be pretty innovative and a lot of fun, especially for all of you Star Wars fans out there.  I have no doubt that this is only the first of the amazing new technology that we can expect to hear about as Star Wars Land is in the works!
