Information on MagicBands for Offsite Guests
First reported by WDWMagic
For the past several months MagicBands have been available for free to guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. In March, Annual Passholders were added to the list of recipients. Passholders also do not have to pay for the bands. Beginning today, March 31, the bands are being sold to offsite guests as well. The cost is $12.95 per band. They must be linked to a My Disney Experience account. A cast member will take care of that at the time of purchase. You must have an existing ticket or MagicBand when you purchase the new one.
MagicBands come in seven colors; gray, yellow, green, red, blue, orange, and pink. The advantage of having a MagicBand over a regular ticket is the ease of access. You will not need to keep pulling your ticket out when it’s time for a FastPass+ return, you just touch the band to the scanner.
Off site guests can purchase the MagicBands in the parks and at Downtown Disney. They are available at the following locations:
Magic Kingdom; Big Top Souvenirs, Emporium, Frontierland Trading Post, Mickey’s Gift Station (at the Transportation & Ticket Center), and Space Mountain Gift Shop.
Epcot; Camera Center, Disney Traders, and World Traveler.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios; The Darkroom, Legends of Hollywood, and Stage One.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom; Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Creature Comforts, and Disney Outfitters.
Downtown Disney; Disney’s Pin Traders, and DisneyQuest Gift Shop.

Also starting March 31, offsite guests are able to make reservations online for FastPass+. A MagicBand is not required, but the guest will need to have a ticket and an account through My Disney Experience. Passholders and offsite guests can make reservations up to 30 days in advance, Walt Disney Resort guests can reserve their FastPass+ times up to 60 days in advance. Only three times are allowed per day and they all must be in the same park.
