Incident at Blizzard Beach Sees Mother and Child Inappropriately Going Down Slide
At Walt Disney World Resort, guest safety is always top of mind—but a recent situation at one of its water parks has stirred an online conversation about park rules and response times.
A TikTok video, now viewed more than 41 million times with over 3.5 million likes, captures a moment at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park involving a mother and her young child attempting to use one of the slides in a way that goes against posted guidelines. In the video, the child sits on the mother’s lap—something not permitted on the slide. A cast member is seen intervening, explaining that the slide must be used individually.
Things quickly escalate when the guest tries to move her child to the adjacent slide. In the process, she accidentally slides down, taking the child with her. As the mother descends, the child ends up going down backwards while still in her grip.
The situation was captured using a currently popular TikTok audio—Jet2 Holidays’ sound—commonly paired with humorous vacation mishaps. Similar audio was recently used in another viral clip involving Peter Pan’s Flight.
However, this clip has ignited a range of reactions. Many viewers criticized the mother’s initial decision to break the rules, while others felt the cast member should have intervened sooner, possibly before both individuals were seated on the slide.
One user wrote, “The employee kinda made the situation worse. It was a lot safer to leave [you], cause 1, it was too late to ask you to get off and she should’ve been watching from the start and stopped you before you both sat down.”
Another comment, echoing a widespread concern, questioned: “like where was she leaving [the] child anyways??? alone at [the] top of the slide?”
Some of the comment threads sparked over 150 responses, debating everything from theme park policy to parenting decisions. Confusion about where exactly the mother was trying to place her child—since the camera doesn’t clearly show the second slide—fueled further concern. Some speculated she may have been planning to leave the child unattended with other guests at the top of the slide.
Responding to the comments, the video’s creator—@francellabadelom—explained: “Lol no, I was just trying to get her on the other tube so we could slide together, but it didn’t work.”

For context, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is one of two water parks at the Central Florida resort, along with Typhoon Lagoon. Earlier this year, on May 21, Walt Disney World celebrated a milestone: all six of its parks, including water parks, were operating simultaneously. That said, Blizzard Beach is scheduled to close temporarily in September 2025 for seasonal maintenance.
