How to Draw Sven From “Frozen 2”

We can’t be the only ones jealous of Kristoff’s friendship with his best pal, Sven! Who wouldn’t want a best friend reindeer as sweet and lovable as Sven from the Frozen films?! Animation Supervisor, Michael Woodside, is working his magic and showing us how to draw the beloved Sven. Check out the video and details below as shared by DisneyMagicMoments. Happy drawing!

From the first circle to his massive antlers, Woodside walks us through a tutorial teaching us how to bring Sven to life on the page. We also learn about Sven’s character-defining features like his big, expressive eyebrows. Woodside expertly explains how to draw the furry reindeer, breaking down each step into easy-to-follow terms such as his “bean-shaped nostrils” and “ears like the letter D.”

As he’s drawing, Woodside talks about how much fun the character was to animate. He noted that while Sven may not have been the focus of each scene, he’s still always doing something fun in the background.

Sven is no doubt an amazing character! How did your drawing turn out? Make sure to share your work with the hashtag #DrawWithDisneyAnimation!

About Mike and Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 15 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
