For Two Months, Disney Has Blocked Onsite Hotel Guests From Using Pool

Disneyland Resort has removed the construction walls that recently surrounded the hot tub area at the Pixar Place Hotel. However, the whirlpool remains closed to families staying at the Southern California Disney Resort hotel.

Construction walls have surrounded the hot tub on the Disney Resort hotel’s third-floor pool deck since Mid-May. On Tuesday, WDWNT reported that they had finally come down and shared a photo of the refurbished outdoor guest area.

The large circular hot tub, located underneath a permanent light canopy, is now visible to guests in the area near the main hotel pool and the Pixar Shorts Court. The pool deck tiles, light fixtures, and other decorative elements appear to have been refreshed and reinstalled during the over a month-long refurbishment.

Despite the removal of the construction walls, the whirlpool remains closed to guests staying at the Pixar Place Hotel. A sign near the filled hot tub reads that the pool is “temporarily unavailable” and encourages guests to “see a life guard for approximate re-opening time.” Access to the surrounding area, including the main pool and the Pixar Shorts Court, is unrestricted.

Earlier this year, Disneyland Resort refurbished other pool areas at the Pixar Place Hotel, including the main Pixar Place Pool, Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, and the Nemo & Friends splash pad. Those amenities have since reopened, and the hot tub refurbishment does not appear to be connected to the earlier projects completed this year.

Disneyland Resort guests are encouraged to consult a lifeguard or the front desk at their Disney Resort hotel for the most up-to-date information on pool and other amenity availability for overnight guests.
