Hersheypark Suddenly Halts Operations, Cites Dangerous Conditions
A severe thunderstorm watch over South-Central Pennsylvania forced Hersheypark Stadium to make a last-minute call on Saturday evening, meaning that thousands of vacationers found out their plans had changed just hours in advance.
The Concert That Couldn’t Happen Saturday

Hersheypark Stadium announced on Saturday, July 19, that the Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan concert scheduled for that evening had been postponed due to a severe thunderstorm watch covering the region. The venue shared the news on Facebook:
SHOW UPDATE: Given the current severe thunderstorm watch for the remainder of the evening, the THOMAS RHETT & NIALL HORAN show tonight has been rescheduled for TOMORROW, July 19, at 6pm for the safety of our guests, the artists and our team members.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date.
In a follow-up comment, Hersheypark Stadium addressed ticketing logistics:
“Refunds will be honored if guests can’t make the rescheduled date, and options will be shared with ticket holders directly via email. We appreciate your patience as we work with Ticketmaster through the process.”
The Artists Speak to Fans

Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan didn’t leave disappointed fans to hear the news through a venue statement alone. The two artists posted a video to Instagram addressing the postponement:

“We love y’all, and your safety is first and foremost our biggest concern,” Rhett said. “We want to give y’all the show that we have prepared, and we just couldn’t guarantee that for tonight. It’s a miracle that the venue’s available tomorrow, that me and Niall are both here tomorrow, so we’ll see you guys tomorrow night, ready to freaking rock.”
Theme Park Operations Unaffected

The concert postponement didn’t ripple through the broader Hershey Park experience. The Hersheypark theme park, ZooAmerica, and The Boardwalk Water Park were all operating normally on Sunday, July 20, according to the resort’s official website. Guests with theme park plans don’t need to adjust their itineraries due to Saturday’s weather-related concert delay.
