Orlando Weekly has reported a major rumor that Disney may be planning a Haunted Mansion themed restaurant at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The Haunted Mansion is an extremely popular fan favorite attraction, and we expect that the fan following would be fully in support of this idea. (I know I sure am!) There are no details released yet about the restaurant, or even if it would be expected to be a quick service restaurant or table service. Either way would be really cool, but a table service restaurant set to this theme would make it one of the most unique experiences on property.
It is no surprise that Disney could have this in the works with the popularity of The Jungle Skipper Canteen addition to Magic Kingdom. It was the first dining location in the park to be themed after and enhance the story of one of the attractions. Given this success and the popularity of The Haunted Mansion, it would be sure to be a winner. Within the last couple of years Disney expanded the Haunted Mansion merchandise selection and added a themed merchandise shop right outside of the attraction, Memento Mori. The shop has brought a wide array of merchandise including dinner place settings, clothing, art and more. The popularity of the shop proves that there is an appetite for all things Haunted Mansion.
