Disney Parks Blog announced today that “Happily Ever After”, which is set to replace “Wishes” starting on May 12, will have the advanced projection technology that any Disney show has used thus far. Â The show will feature many old favorite characters as well as newer characters from movies like Zootopia, Moana and Big Hero 6 that haven’t previously been included in shows. Â The creators behind the show brought in experts in animation and projection technology to ensure that the show was completely cutting edge and unlike anything that guests have ever seen before. Â Disney wanted the show to be one of the most immersive shows that guests have experienced at Walt Disney World.
Per Disney Parks Blog, according to Show Director James Silson, projections are one of many invaluable storytelling tools used in “Happily Ever After,” in addition to new hand-drawn animation, an original score and the latest in fireworks, lasers and pyrotechnics. “With projection mapping technology, you can create an immersive environment for guests, taking them inside the films of Disney,” he said. “It enables us to flood the palate and give our guests an opportunity to experience many of our characters’ worlds in the same show.”
We can’t wait to see this new show! Â So far, everything we have seen or heard is amazing, and we have no doubt that it won’t disappoint!
