Halloween is Coming to Walt Disney World

It may only be September, but it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about Halloween at Walt Disney World.  Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party started in August and continues to run on select nights throughout September and October, right up through November 1st as the last party night for 2017.  Guests at the party are able to dress in fun Halloween costumes and attire to celebrate the Halloween fun with the whole family while they enjoy all the great festivities of this fun party event held at Magic Kingdom theme park.

If you plan to wear a costume to the party, then you will want to be sure to adhere to the costume guidelines for guests of all ages.  There are very specific rules about any masks that guests may attempt to wear, as well as specific rules about capes or other props for costumes.

There is a variety of entertainment at the event.  One awesome experience is Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade where the Headless Horseman trots through the park and is then quickly followed by a variety of fun themed floats blasting Halloween parade music.  Guests also get to enjoy a fantastic fireworks show, HalloWishes, where the Ghost Host from The Haunted Mansion is the host for the show.

Guests will also get to enjoy many of the attractions that are typically in operation at the Magic Kingdom, especially many of the rides.  Guests will also have the opportunity to trick or treat at several locations around the park.  The trick or treating is free and guests can go through the trick or treat lines as many time as they would like in order to collect delicious candy.

There is also seasonal merchandise and sweet treats available for purchase at locations throughout the park.  These specialty items are only available during the parties for guests that have tickets to be at the party.  Specific party tickets must be purchased for the night that you plan to attend.  You do not have to also purchase theme park admission in addition to the party tickets.  The cost of the ticket varies depending on what night you want to attend.

The Halloween season at Walt Disney World is amazing, and you definitely won’t want to miss out on all of the fun!  Who out there plans to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
