Guests Forget About Attraction After Spotting Disney Princess Doing Something Unusual

Entertainment offerings at Walt Disney World Resort continue to evolve, but sometimes it’s the unplanned moments that leave the biggest impression. Earlier this week, Magic Kingdom guests experienced one such surprise during a performance of the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.

As the cavalcade made its way through the park, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen—stars of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog—were seen mingling with guests and dancing along with performers, including Miguel from Coco. This spontaneous moment was caught on video by Instagram user @mouseketeer_for_life, who shared, “We thought we stopped to watch the Adventure Friends cavalcade, but found ourselves just watching Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.”

Typically, character meet and greets at Walt Disney World are scheduled and occur in designated areas. This differs from Disneyland Resort, where characters more frequently roam and interact throughout the park.

The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade remains a daily fixture at Magic Kingdom Park, entertaining guests at 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Along the route from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A., guests can catch a wide array of Disney characters. According to the official Walt Disney World website, the performance “features the most Characters of any cavalcade to date, including Bruno from Encanto and Miguel from Coco—plus so many more!”

Joining the cavalcade are beloved characters such as Pocahontas, Marie, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book, and Judy and Nick from Zootopia.

Magic Kingdom Park recently introduced another entertainment experience: Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. This new nighttime parade debuted in late July and is presented twice each night at 9 and 11 p.m., with showings across Main Street, U.S.A. and other key areas of the park. It is not presented during special-ticketed events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

As always, the day concludes with the beloved Happily Ever After fireworks show, which returned following the end of the park’s 50th anniversary celebration and continues to draw crowds to Cinderella Castle each evening.

Have you ever had a magical character encounter like this at Walt Disney World Resort? We’d love to hear about it!

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
