Guests Banned From Disneyland After Inappropriately Touching Character

Scrubs star Donald Faison recently revealed why he and a friend were banned from Disneyland Resort. He shared the story on an episode of “Fake Doctors: Real Friends,” a podcast he co-hosts with Zach Braff.

Braff and Faison are most famous for starring as Dr. Chris Turk and Dr. John Dorian “J.D.” in the NBC sitcom Scrubs, which aired for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010. The pair started the “Fake Doctors: Real Friends” podcast in March 2020.

The podcast began with the actors discussing an individual Scrubs episode and sharing behind-the-scenes memories. Braff and Faison shifted their format after they covered the series finale in March 2024. Now, the pair spends each episode chatting with celebrities from other beloved television shows.

Faison recently shared a clip from the newest “Fake Doctors: Real Friends” episode on Instagram. During an interview with Animal Kingdom and Disclaimer star Leila George, Faison recounted the incident that caused him and a friend to be banned from Disneyland Resort.

Faison explained that while filming Scrubs, he would visit Disneyland Resort once or twice a month. On one occasion, he was joined by his friend, Kevin Jordan, who said taking a picture with Pluto was his “childhood dream.”

“No matter what, I gotta take a picture with Pluto,” Faison remembered Jordan saying.

“I can make that happen, bro,” the Scrubs star replied.

Disney cast members pulled some strings and arranged a private meet-and-greet for Faison, Jordan, and Pluto. A Disney PhotoPass photographer was present to capture the memories.

“You flew too close to the sun,” Braff joked.

“I’m like, holy s**t, Kevin, it’s Pluto,” Faison recalled. “He goes, ‘Oh my god! Can we take this picture?!’ I’m like, ‘Let’s take this picture, Kevin!’”

Upon seeing Pluto, Jordan picked his favorite character up off the ground to pose for a photo. Faison took a picture of the moment, which he also shared on Instagram:

“Oh, you can’t pick Pluto up,” Braff laughed. “Why does he pick Pluto up?”

Faison joked that he didn’t realize Disneyland Resort had security before this moment. They “came out of nowhere, scrambling” to stop Jordan from carrying Pluto. The pair were banned from Disneyland Resort.

“I wasn’t allowed back into Disneyland for over a year because of this s***,” Faison concluded.

“Don’t pick up Pluto,” Braff laughed.

Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort have strict rules for guest behavior. Always ask for consent before touching Disney characters and, when in doubt, defer to their attendant’s instructions.
