A guest was kicked out of the Disneyland Resort earlier this summer for attempting to advertise a cryptocurrency at the front of the parks. The incident unfolded the same weekend that The Walt Disney Company held its D23 conference, an event that saw Disney make several exciting announcements regarding its entertainment and theme park divisions.

TikTok user LaTruce shared two videos of the incident, posting them on the popular social media platform.

The first video shows the guest in question hanging up a cryptocurrency advertisement at the park’s entrance. The banner was reportedly advertising Maneki, a type of crypto coin.

A Disneyland cast member quickly approaches the guest, informing them they must leave immediately. According to the video’s owner, it only took a minute for a cast member to notice what was happening. The guest was eventually escorted off the property.

“If Walt were alive today, he’d be rolling in his grave,” said LaTruce.

The second video shows more of the encounter. “They told the perpetrator he had to take it down and leave,” said LaTruce. “Maybe Walter Knott wouldn’t notice, but this is Walter Disney! Cant do that here sonnyboy!”

Advertisements are not explicitly listed as prohibited items by Disneyland’s list of rules, though the theme park notes it “reserves the right not to allow any bag, parcel or another item” at any time and for any reason.

It’s unknown if this ban from the parks was temporary or permanent.

There have been many instances of guests getting kicked out of the Disney theme parks, though they rarely if ever involve cryptocurrency schemes. Last year, a guest was escorted out of Disneyland after walking through the resort completely nude.

Infamous social media content creator Jack Doherty was banned from both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resorts earlier this year for unspecified reasons.

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
