The Orange County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed the details in an email to Orlando Theme Park Zone. “A woman in her 40s passed away,” a spokesperson for the OCSO wrote. “There were no signs of foul play.”

No further information has been released regarding the woman’s identity or cause of death. Walt Disney World Resort has not made a public statement, which is typical for guest-related incidents that occur on its property.

On October 14, authorities responded to reports of a possible Monorail collision at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Guests were temporarily evacuated from part of the hotel lobby as rumors spread online. Later that day, investigators confirmed that the Monorail was not involved and identified the deceased as 31-year-old Summer Equitz, who died by suicide after falling from a balcony. Family members later described Equitz as a passionate Disney fan who had recently been reported missing in Central Florida.

A week later, on October 21, a man in his 60s died of natural causes at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds. First responders arrived after receiving a “person down” call, but the man could not be revived.

Then, on October 23, guests at Bay Lake Tower, part of Disney’s Contemporary Resort complex, reported a significant emergency presence near the pool area. Video footage circulated online showing a large white tent and crime scene tape as Disney Cast Members went door to door, asking guests to avoid looking out from their balconies.

Authorities later confirmed that 28-year-old Matthew Cohn died after falling from a 12th-floor balcony. The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be “multiple traumatic injuries” and ruled it a suicide.
