FuelRods are available at Walt Disney World for guests to purchase in order to keep their electronic devices charged and ready to use while at Walt Disney World. Staying connected to the guest internet, taking pictures, using My Disney Experience, etc. can all be very draining on device batteries, especially if you want it to last an entire day in the parks. Guests are able to purchase a FuelRod kit for $30, which includes a portable battery and cable for your device. The swaps for a recharged FuelRod when the battery on yours went low used to be free. We have confirmed that this will no longer be the case and there will be a charge for swaps.
There are already notices on the machines that the cost will be $3 each time that you need to swap a charger. This will begin on November 1st, 2019.
Guests who don’t want to pay for a charged FuelRod can charge it themselves by plugging it in. You could do this overnight in the evenings when you are back in the resort, but it definitely isn’t as convenient as just swapping it out.
Who all uses the FuelRod service when in Walt Disney World?
