Food and Drink Booths Added to Flower and Garden

Changes for the 20th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Walt Disney World is going all out for the 20th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. It will be held March 6-May 19, 2013 throughout the park. The topiaries and floral displays will still be there, bigger and better than ever. The HGTV and DIY personalities will return to host seminars and demonstrations. As always, you will be able to enjoy great acts from the 60’s and 70’s during the Flower Power Concert Series. It’s the additions that will make this year better than ever.

One major addition for 2013 will take place in World Showcase. There will be 12 new kiosks that will serve food and drink items that are not normally sold in the park. Known as Garden Marketplace, guests will be able to try shrimp with grits, Zellwood corn, and other treats. There will also be many unique alcoholic offerings for those of age like Hot Sun Tomato Wine and Dole Whip with Spiced Rum. Frozen non-alcoholic specialty drinks such as Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade will also be available in Garden Marketplace. Florida Fresh, Hanami, Primavera Kitchen, Fruits by the Glass, Pineapple Promenade and Smokehouse Barbeque are among the 12 kiosks that will be featured.

Disney has not forgotten about the kids! “Land of Oz’ will be a play area designed just for them. It will feature giant flowers and have a circus-type theme. There will be red and white tents, midway games for the little ones to play, and the “Oz Movie Garden”. Your whole family will want to see the crashed hot air balloon, based on the upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful movie. Another interactive play area will be “Radiator Springs”. It will be based on Cars 2 and feature Lightning McQueen and Mater.

There will also be new topiaries in 2013. Fab Five will feature Mickey and some of his friends. Topiaries from the upcoming Monsters University will also be there. Kids will enjoy the new Phineas and Ferb topiary. In the evening you’ll want to check out Illuminated Gardens as the topiaries throughout the park twinkle and shine like never before.

Making their first appearance in the Flower Power Concert series will be The Village People (April 19-21) and Tommy Roe (May 3-5). Other favorites such as Herman’s Hermits will be returning.
