First responders converged on Disney Springs late Wednesday morning. The sudden call, reported as a “person down,” marks the latest in a growing series of distressing medical incidents around Walt Disney World Resort.
A Morning Emergency at Disney Springs

At approximately 10:35 a.m. on November 26, a scanner alert shared by the X (formerly Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime indicated that emergency crews were dispatched to the Bus Drop Off Drive area of Disney Springs. The alert, listed as a “person down,” suggested that someone at or near the transportation area had collapsed and required immediate assistance.

The location of the call means the patient could be a guest waiting for the next available bus to a Disney Resort hotel, or a cast member utilizing the employee-exclusive transportation options nearby. As of the time of reporting, neither Walt Disney World Resort officials nor local law enforcement have released any information about the patient’s condition, the cause of the collapse, or whether the individual survived.

When authorities respond to a medical emergency, real-time updates occasionally clarify whether the patient has passed away, but these updates are not guaranteed. Unless wrongdoing is suspected, police typically do not release additional information out of respect for medical privacy.
A Disturbing Pattern of Recent Emergencies
This latest incident comes during a particularly difficult period for Walt Disney World Resort, which has experienced several high-profile tragedies in the last two months. In mid-October, a 31-year-old woman died by suicide after falling from an interior balcony at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Days later, a guest in their 60s passed away at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds, a case authorities later confirmed as natural causes.

Only two days after the Fort Wilderness death, a second suicide occurred at Bay Lake Tower, with 28-year-old Matthew Cohn falling from a 12th-floor room he had checked into the previous night. In early November, another two deaths were reported at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, both involving medical emergencies with no evidence of foul play.

It is kind of not a surprise since Disney is a little city and unfortunately things like this happen in cities, it would not stop me from going.
