Fans may have been given a clue as to when Universal’s exciting new theme park will finally open.

Few theme park projects have been as interesting or as exciting to watch come together quite like Epic Universe. First announced in 2019, Epic Universe is the next step for Universal theme parks, promising to offer guests an experience unlike anything they’ve ever seen.
Epic Universe will be filled with dozens of new experiences, ranging from thrilling roller coasters and immersive dark rides, as well as several new places to grab a bite to eat and shop. The new park will be anchored by several core franchises, such as Harry Potter and How to Train Your Dragon, with the park’s Dark Universe land paying homage to Universal’s collection of classic monsters.
Despite Universal dishing out bite-sized chunks of new Epic Universe information over the last year, the park’s release date has been kept strictly under wraps. However, with Universal’s newly-revealed sweepstakes, fans may have been given a major hint at when they can expect Epic Universe to open its gates.

Earlier this week, Universal launched a sweepstakes, with the grand prize being a 5-night vacation to the Universal Orlando Resort. This grand prize includes access to Epic Universe.
While this may sound exciting enough, the dates of the sweepstakes are perhaps the most interesting part, potentially revealing when Epic Universe will officially open its doors.
The new sweepstakes is open now, but comes to a close on June 30, 2025. Universal has not released an official opening date for Epic Universe but has stated several times the new park will open sometime in the summer of 2025.
Considering guests have the chance to be drawn as the winner of the sweepstakes until June 30, it’s likely Epic Universe will open either in July or August, with September also being a late-summer possibility.

The winner can bring up to three guests on the trip, and the prize also includes roundtrip airfare and ground transportation. Guests will be accommodated at Universal’s new Helios Grand Hotel.
The sweepstakes includes admission to Epic Universe and a 3-park 4-day ticket, which means guests can also explore Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure during their trip.
While its opening date is still unconfirmed, Universal has been making significant progress on Epic Universe recently, with the new expansion shaping up to be an incredible destination for theme park fans.
