Epic Universe Newest Attraction Already Needs a Breather

When Universal Orlando opened the gates to Epic Universe for Passholder Previews, excitement hit an all-time high. Fans finally had the chance to step into one of the most hyped theme park expansions in years, and one TikTok user was lucky enough to be among them. But their adventure through SUPER NINTENDO WORLD took a bit of a detour—thanks to a sudden stop on Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness.

TikTok user @jujiroloff shared the moment the ride halted unexpectedly. While some guests might panic or get frustrated, she took it in stride, joking in the caption, “This is what I get for going to the previews! Just kidding though, everything was really well done and we had the best day at Epic Universe.” Now that’s the theme park spirit.

The video quickly caught fire online, giving future parkgoers a funny yet honest glimpse of what to expect during the preview phase. And let’s be real—these kinds of interruptions aren’t unusual when it comes to major new attractions launching for the first time.

Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness is an ambitious ride. It replicates the chaotic, high-speed jumps of the classic video games using a clever hidden track system that gives the illusion that your cart is leaping off the rails. It’s jaw-dropping when it works smoothly—but it’s also understandable that there might be the occasional hiccup as Universal gets it dialed in.

Characters are seen enjoying the ride, with vibrant colors, palm trees, and dynamic motion filling the background, reminiscent of Disney and Universal's magical settings.

For @jujiroloff and many others, these unexpected moments are just part of the charm. In fact, some commenters even wished they had been stuck just to soak in the ride longer and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the tech.

In the end, it’s a reminder that with great innovation comes a bit of unpredictability. And if you’re lucky enough to be at Epic Universe during this phase, you’re not just visiting—you’re part of its history in the making.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
