EPCOT is shaking things up at the Soarin’ Around the World attraction, which will never quite be the same again. In early September 2025, Disney introduced a fresh new look for the attraction, starting with the debut of brand-new costumes for its cast members. This was the first major costume change in years, adding a modern touch to the iconic flying simulator ride.
The original Soarin’ attraction made its debut at Disney California Adventure in 2001 under the name Soarin’ Over California. Guests were invited to take a thrilling hang-glider flight over California’s most famous landmarks, including Malibu Beach, Yosemite Falls, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Walt Disney World Resort followed suit with its own version of Soarin’ Over California, which opened in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT in 2005.
In 2016, both United States Disney parks introduced Soarin’ Around the World. This updated experience takes riders over the world’s most iconic landmarks, including the Taj Mahal in India, the Great Wall of China, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This global version of the ride later spread to other Disney parks, including Shanghai Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, each with its own unique twist.
Now, nearly two decades after its introduction at EPCOT, Soarin’ Around the World is receiving some major updates. In addition to the new cast member uniforms that resemble modern flight attendant attire, the Walt Disney World Resort ride is also introducing fresh, exclusive merchandise.
According to Laughing Place, the Creations Shop at EPCOT is now selling a bright blue t-shirt with the Soarin’ logo on the front and a “travel the world” design featuring pilot Mickey Mouse on the back. The t-shirt is available in several adult sizes for $34.99.
Though the shirt is not available online, Disney Parks fans can purchase a matted artisan print inspired by EPCOT’s Soarin’ Around the World attraction from the Disney Store for $39.99.
