Disney Dining Serving up the latest Disney Eats, Treats, News, and More!
Walt Disney World Resort is set to enhance its entertainment offerings at EPCOT by introducing circus-style acts. This initiative comes as the Mouse tries to revive live entertainment within the Disney parks, especially after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
While Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park saw disruptions and cancellations during the pandemic, EPCOT was most impacted. Walt Disney World Resort not only laid off entertainment performers throughout all four Disney parks but delayed the 50th Anniversary transformation of EPCOT. Construction that was supposed to end in 2021 didn’t wrap up until earlier this year.

Now that the delayed reimagining is complete, Walt Disney World Resort has revealed that it’s trying to bring lively entertainment back to EPCOT.
EPCOT Performer Requirements
In its quest to infuse EPCOT with fresh entertainment, Walt Disney World Resort is actively seeking a diverse array of performers. A Disney Auditions casting notice seeks “variety acts of up to five performers” capable of captivating audiences of all ages, particularly families with children. The open call seeks numerous talents, including magicians, jugglers, physical comedians, performance artists, solo/duo dancers, acts using technology, and unique multi-disciplinary acts.

To be considered for these roles, interested individuals must be at least 18 years old and reside in Central Florida, which ensures the ability to perform regularly and contribute to the lively atmosphere of EPCOT. Performers will be scheduled on a contractual basis and have no guaranteed hours. Disney Auditions didn’t list a pay range for variety act performers.
Walt Disney World Resort has indicated that it is not currently looking for “musical acts, fire breathing or fire juggling acts, balloon artists, animal acts, face painters or caricature artists.”

The submission period for performers is open until November 24, 2024. Following this, callbacks are scheduled for January 24, 2025. The specific start date for performances at EPCOT remains uncertain.
Interested talent should send their submissions to WDPR.Disney.Audition.Submissions@disney.com with the subject line “WDW Variety Act Submission.” Disney’s talent team will contact performers about callbacks.
