Canadian Company To Take Over Disney Theme Park Operations at EPCOT Later This Year

Air Canada is taking over several operations at EPCOT, marking the latest installment in a longstanding tradition of third-party sponsorships at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

Walt Disney World Resort revealed on Thursday that it has entered into a partnership with the Canadian airline to expand the Canada World Showcase Pavilion by transforming the closed Refreshment Port space into a brand-new Quick-Service dining location called La Poutinerie.

The former kiosk has been shuttered behind construction walls for months, with Disney offering no timeline or explanation for the closure. Thursday’s announcement finally put that question to rest. La Poutinerie will be fully dedicated to Canadian food and theming, carrying the Air Canada brand into the World Showcase and deepening the Canada Pavilion’s presence at EPCOT.

Guests can expect poutine to feature prominently on the menu, likely building on some of the specialty varieties the original Refreshment Port was already known for. No exact opening date has been set, though Walt Disney World Resort has said the Quick-Service dining location will debut soon.

Beyond the dining announcement, Air Canada is also stepping into the entertainment side of EPCOT. Members of the airline’s Aeroplan loyalty program can now redeem 1,000 points for access to a dedicated private viewing area for Luminous The Symphony of Us, the nighttime spectacular staged over the World Showcase Lagoon.

The exclusive spot is positioned at the China Overlook near the China Pavilion, with reservations available starting May 9. Capacity is intentionally limited to maintain a premium atmosphere, and all guests — regardless of points or reservations — must hold a valid EPCOT admission to enter the viewing area. Ticket types that require a Disney Park Pass reservation should be confirmed for the chosen date before locking in an Aeroplan booking.

Sponsor partnerships have been part of EPCOT’s DNA since the park’s 1982 opening, with multiple World Showcase Pavilions built in part through relationships with the countries they represent. Thursday’s Air Canada deal is just the latest to follow that tradition.
