EPCOT is debuting a brand-new, family-friendly attraction just in time for the International Food & Wine Festival. Opening on August 28, 2025, this limited-time experience is sure to be a hit with even the youngest Disney Park guests.
According to WDWNT, Disney cast members have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on a unique play area located in a flex space between EPCOT’s Imagination! Pavilion and the Canada World Showcase Pavilion. This versatile area, which debuted earlier this year, first featured a Stormalong Bay-inspired play area during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and now it’s transforming once again for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
On the morning of August 25, EPCOT guests noticed Disney cast members setting up log-shaped tunnels, mushroom steps, and acorn seats in the new play space. Structural support posts are wrapped in whimsical tree-themed decor featuring woodland creatures inspired by the nearby Harvest Hallow food area.
Harvest Hallow, a popular addition to the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, brings a fall farming theme to the flex space. With food kiosks like Forest & Field, Milled & Mulled, and Bramblewood Bites, Harvest Hallow showcases seasonal flavors and fun decor, including pumpkins, gourds, and barrels. The area also introduces a lovable character named Squirrel, who is dedicated to tending the harvest.
This year, Walt Disney World Resort is expanding on the Harvest Hallow theme with a charming sign introducing Squirrel’s story:
Squirrel loves to farm and gather
in the forest and the field.
With every passing harvest,
greater grows his yield! At every county fair
he snatches up first prize.
His ambition’s never-ending
as is his enterprise.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will run from August 28 to November 22, 2025, with food kiosks scattered throughout EPCOT offering exclusive, limited-time dishes. The new family-friendly play area will be a great way for Disney Park guests to take a break, relax, and enjoy interactive fun between indulging in festival treats.
