Encore Resort at Reunion, an Off-Property Choice Near Walt Disney World

11-Bedroom Encore Resort Rental Home

Encore Resort at Reunion, an Off-Property Choice Near Walt Disney World One of the main questions that I hear when someone is planning a Walt Disney World vacation is “Where is the best place to stay?”. The answer to that depends on the situation. Staying on property is convenient, but that is not what works best in every situation. That is why I like to check out other options from time to time. On November 14, 2019, I was part of a small media group who was invited to learn more about Encore Resort at Reunion. (The physical address is 7635 Fairfax Drive, Reunion, FL, 34747.) I must say that I was impressed!

Encore Resort is located about 15-20 minutes from Walt Disney World, depending on traffic and which park you plan to visit. There is a shuttle available to get guests to the parks. The property is huge, there is also a shuttle that they use on the grounds to transport guests because the property is so large. The resort is filled with vacation homes. They range in size from four bedrooms to 13 bedrooms. We toured a home with 11 bedrooms. It was enormous, but it still had the home-like feel that is always nice when you are on vacation.

The houses at Encore Resort have private pools and hot tubs. There is a really nice patio area outside. If you’re worried about the little ones, Florida law requires alarms on the doors in vacation homes. If someone opens that door, you will know about it.

The eleven bedrooms varied in size, but none of them were cramped. They varied in style as well. Most of the bedrooms were traditional, but there were three with fun themes. One was asports room, another had bunk beds and was decorated with the world’s most famous mousecouple. The third room was designed to look like it was straight out of Cinderella. I have a feeling that there will be arguments over who gets that room.

My personal favorite feature of the house was the private theater on the second story. There were rows of recliners, and a large screen at the front. Now that Disney+ is available I can picture spending hours in such a room, watching the classics. There is also a game room on the second floor. Not all homes have theaters and game rooms.

The kitchen had everything that you could want, and more. When I say more, I mean it literally. There were two refrigerators, two dishwashers, two ovens, and a large island with two sinks. If someone loves to cook, this would be perfect for making some fun snacks to take upstairs to the theater.

If you don’t like to cook, Encore Resort has a fantastic solution. You can hire a private chef! We experienced this first hand, as we enjoyed a Thanksgiving Dinner a little bit early. Our chef put his own spin on some of the holiday classics, and he had the perfect wine pairing. If you’re staying at Encore Resort on a holiday, a traditional meal can be prepared for you and served right in your vacation home.

There are plenty of amenities for those staying at Encore Resort. If you’ve had a long day, you can have a private massage inside your home. There is a club house that you can use. There you will find a restaurant that serves all three meals, a store, an exercise room, and more. There is also an information desk, and you can purchase tickets to Walt Disney World and other local theme parks. Behind the clubhouse is a small, but not too small, water park. There’s a splash zone for kids of all ages, a large pool, and some water slides. There is also an arcade, and you can rent a surrey bike.

When it comes to staying at Encore Resort, there are different options. You can rent out one of the homes for your vacation. There is a two night minimum. The other two options both deal with purchasing one of the homes. You can buy a home there as your own vacation home. Stay when you’re in town, and then rent it out when you aren’t using it. The third option is that you can buy your home and live there. Encore Resort is located in a beautiful area, and the location is fantastic. It would be easy to call it home.

Decoration

Since there are homes of different sizes, staying at Encore Resort might make good financial sense as well. It’s perfect for family reunions, or other such gatherings. There is enough space that everyone can have privacy, but you would also be able to spend a lot of time together. With a private pool, you wouldn’t have to share the space with other parties. If everyone split the cost, renting a house for a large group is extremely affordable. Encore Resort is also a great choice for a business retreat.

Whether you’re looking for a place near Walt Disney World that has plenty of extra space, or you don’t want to have your vacation center around the House of Mouse, Encore Resort could be exactly what you are looking for. It’s conveniently located, but there is plenty to do right on property. You could instead do nothing if that is what you want. I’d like to thank the staff at Encore Resort at Reunion for their hospitality. I had a wonderful experience.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
