Early Closures Planned for Walt Disney World Ahead of Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian is scheduled to cause severe storms and weather in the Central Florida area on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019. In preparation for the conditions, Walt Disney World has updated their schedules to allow for early closure of the theme parks on Tuesday. This is to ensure the safety of all guests and allow Disney to contain and manage any damage that should occur as a result of the heavy winds and rainfall. We have a rundown of the hours for Walt Disney World locations for Tuesday, September 3rd below:

• Magic Kingdom Park: 8 AM to 3 PM (7 AM Extra Magic Hours)
• EPCOT: 7 AM to 3 PM
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9 AM to 2 PM (6 AM Extra Magic Hours)
• Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 8 AM to 2 PM (7 AM Extra Magic Hours)
• Disney Springs: 10 AM to 3 PM
• ESPN Wide World of Sports: CLOSED
• Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: CLOSED
• Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: 10 AM to 3 PM
• Winter Summerland Miniature Golf: 10 AM to 3 PM
• Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf: 10 AM to 3 PM
• Resort Hotels: Open, with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground closing at 3 PM. The campground will remain closed until Disney gives the all clear that it is safe for guests to return to that location.

We have also seen that the Orlando International Airport will also close early on Tuesday, around 2 PM. For guests that want to get in and out via air travel, they will need to do so before the airport closes. Of course the timing of this may shift as the storm gets closer, depending on the safety of the conditions.
