As of November 14, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT is welcoming guests back with a new presentation. The trackless dark ride, located in the France Pavilion at World Showcase, first opened in 2021 and quickly became a favorite. Guests are transported into the world of Pixar’s Ratatouille, shrinking to the size of a rat for a chase through Gusteau’s kitchen, dodging chefs and navigating tables along the way.
After four years of operation, Disney temporarily closed the attraction on November 11 for a scheduled refurbishment. November 9 marked the last day guests could experience the ride in its original 3D format, complete with water sprays, wind effects, and the immersive visuals that defined its early years.

The update focuses primarily on the ride’s projection system. Imagineers have replaced the 3D visuals with a 2D projection, removing the need for 3D glasses while providing clearer imagery throughout the show scenes. Disney noted that this change is intended to simplify operations, reduce maintenance, improve accessibility, and deliver more consistent visuals.
The refurbishment also includes updates to the queue and ride environment. Guests will notice new props and refreshed lighting that bring added clarity and depth to the attraction. While the technology and effects have been updated, the story and physical layout remain the same. Riders can still follow Remy on his chaotic journey through Gusteau’s restaurant.

The official Walt Disney World website outlined the short downtime and updates: “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will experience a short downtime Nov. 10-13, 2025, and will return with enhanced digital visuals and clearer imagery projected in 2D. Remy’s fans will spot new props and lighting enhancements when they are added to the queue and attraction over the next few months.”
Now reopened, the France Pavilion features a refreshed version of the ride that retains the heart of the original experience. The charm of the chase, the kitchen antics, and the immersive storytelling remain, now with sharper visuals and subtle enhancements to support years of future visits.
