Disney World Hotel Rooms Will Be Unavailable Beginning Late May 2026
A Walt Disney World Value Resort is about to spend the better part of a year under renovation — and guests booked during that stretch should know what to expect.
All-Star Movies Is Getting a Makeover

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will begin a phased room refurbishment in late May 2026, according to an update quietly added to the Walt Disney World Resort website on March 9. The project is expected to wrap in January 2027, bringing the total timeline to roughly eight months.
Disney is staging the work in phases, meaning the hotel will stay open and continue accepting reservations throughout the renovation. Rooms will be taken offline in sections rather than all at once, keeping the property functional for guests even as construction progresses around them.

That said, staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort during this period will come with some caveats. Daytime construction noise is likely, and certain walkways around the resort may be temporarily closed or rerouted, with signage and alternate paths provided when that happens. Disney typically keeps its loudest work to daytime hours, when most guests are at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
As for what exactly is being updated, Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t said. The resort previously benefited from a broader Value Resort overhaul in the late 2010s and early 2020s that brought in wood-style flooring, Murphy beds, and refreshed finishes throughout the room lineup.
Whether this new project picks up where that one left off or targets structural and infrastructure work behind the walls remains to be seen.
The Rest of the Resort Stays Open

Guests needn’t worry about losing access to the broader resort experience. Walt Disney World Resort does not anticipate any impact to bus transportation, dining, or shopping at All-Star Movies, and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool are all expected to remain available throughout the eight-month project.
Neither All-Star Sports nor All-Star Music has been designated for similar treatment at this time.
