Four Adults Locked In Disneyland Ride, Search Party Finds

A recent TikTok is making the rounds on social media, showing a curious moment on Disneyland Resort’s Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin ride. In the video, a group of guests claims to have been “locked” in their ride vehicles after a breakdown, with a search party of sorts setting out to find their friends who had been left behind in another part of the attraction. While the situation seems to suggest a dramatic escape, the real story is far less chaotic.

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin has been a beloved part of Mickey’s Toontown since 1994, even receiving some modern, feminist updates in 2021. Despite being one of Disneyland Park’s classic attractions, the ride, like many others, isn’t immune to technical malfunctions.

TikTok user @shannanitalianmom2 recently shared a video showing their group of guests walking through the broken-down Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin on an impromptu search to find their friends, who had been left behind in another part of the ride.

“They just sitting their in their broke down cars, locked in by those safety bars,” the Disney Park guest joked. “Seeing them just sitting there really tickled me.”

While the caption might suggest that the guests were left alone or trapped in a dangerous situation, a closer look at the footage reveals a different reality. The video clearly shows a Disney cast member assisting the group, guiding them through the ride’s backstage areas. Rather than escaping the ride, the guests were safely evacuated by Disneyland Resort employees, a standard procedure when an attraction experiences technical difficulties.

When a ride breaks down at Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, it’s standard procedure for Disney cast members to evacuate guests in a safe, orderly manner. In most cases, guests remain safely secured in their vehicles until it’s time for a controlled evacuation, ensuring no one is at risk and preventing damage to the delicate ride components. The guests in this situation were never truly “locked” in the vehicle; they simply had to wait their turn to evacuate Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin.

Following the incident, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin reopened without any lasting issues. Disney’s maintenance teams had the attraction running smoothly again in no time, and it remained operational at the time of this article’s publication.
