Disneyland Resort in California has been developing and testing their own version of the FastPass system that is currently in operation at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. At Disneyland the attractions are currently still all on paper FastPass tickets and you must go to the attraction in order to get a FastPass. Disney has announced that they will begin rolling out FastPass at Disneyland for certain attractions. The system will use the Disneyland app for guests to make the reservations and selections that are available.
There will be no in-park kiosks at launch, so the app will be the only way to make the selections starting out. Starting November 20, 2016, Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s California Adventure will be the first attraction to get the system. There is no word yet on when more attractions will utilize the system. Many Disneyland guests are not looking forward to making the park more digital due to the nostalgia and history that the park holds for Walt Disney fans, but the system does make obtaining FastPass selections more convenient. We will keep you posted on future rollouts and news related to this huge launch and change for Disneyland California.
