The sky is literally falling at Disneyland Paris Resort.

When visiting a Disney park, you are likely used to seeing everything in pristine conditions. Walt Disney’s goal was always to ensure that everything looked fresh and clean, and even today, guests cannot purchase gum in the theme parks as Disney looked to eliminate the possibility of gum getting stuck on the floor.
That is just one small example of many efforts that the Disney parks put forth to create the perfect world of imagination for guests.
While Disney does their best, they are not always able to keep things looking perfect 100% of the time.
Sometimes, garbage can pile up on trash cans faster than cast members can get to them, rides can break down, paint can chip, or a light can fall from the ceiling.
Disneyland Paris reporters and experts, DLP Report, shared that the Plaza East shop at Disneyland Park needs some TLC.

In the video, we can see that DLP Report had caught the video moments after the light had fallen, as its swinging momentum from the drop was still in motion. Luckily, there seems to be one single wire that held the light from falling onto the head of a guest.

Interestingly, this is the second light incident we have seen at a Disney Park over the past 24 hours.

Thankfully, no one has been reported injured from either incident today.
The Future of Disneyland Paris
While the European theme park has had recent issues such as bed bug infestations, parks hitting capacity, lots of construction, the closure of Studio 1, and low attendance, the future of Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be Disney Adventure World) is bright.

At D23, Disney fans around the world were thrilled by the exciting updates from Disneyland Paris, including the reveal of a new immersive attraction inspired by The Lion King. Scheduled to open after World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World in 2026, this upcoming addition will transport visitors to the African savanna, allowing them to experience Simba’s adventures firsthand.
Alongside The Lion King experience, guests can look forward to a new nighttime spectacular over Adventure Bay and a brand-new nighttime show at Disneyland Park, launching in January 2025.
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, unveiled plans for a captivating new area at Disneyland Paris dedicated to The Lion King. The centerpiece will be a water-based attraction that takes visitors beneath Pride Rock. The area will also feature character meet-and-greets, themed dining, and shopping options.

Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris, expressed her excitement for the exclusive Lion King area, emphasizing how the design will fully immerse guests in the African savanna and the magic of the story.
Michel Den Dulk, Portfolio Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, shared his enthusiasm for bringing the emotional depth of The Lion King to life in this innovative experience.
Before the opening of The Lion King area, Disney Adventure World will introduce several new attractions, including the Adventure Way promenade, the family-friendly Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, and the highly anticipated Frozen-themed land.
In 2025, a new nighttime show will debut over Adventure Bay, featuring water screens, fountains, special effects, and drone choreography. Disneyland Paris is developing the first-ever water drones in collaboration with Dronisos specifically for this show.
These additions will nearly double the park’s size, ushering in a new era of creativity and imagination. When the Kingdom of Arendelle opens in 2026, visitors will enjoy the Frozen Ever After attraction, along with themed shopping, dining, and royal meet-and-greets with Anna and Elsa.
The new nighttime show at Disneyland Park will feature iconic Disney songs and stunning projections onto Sleeping Beauty Castle, creating a truly immersive experience, with Disney Animation and Pixar stories coming to life on Main Street, U.S.A. as part of the show.
