Main Street Area No More: Disney Shuts Down Iconic Theme Park Location

This week, Disneyland Paris Resort guests may notice that the heart of the original European Disney park looks a little different. The Main Street, U.S.A., area has been partially shut down as crews begin the resort’s annual transformation from Halloween to the Christmas season. Temporary walls and signage now surround the Town Square Gazebo and Disneyland Railroad Station.

Seasonal Changes Sweep Through Main Street, U.S.A.

As the Halloween season came to an end, Disneyland Paris Resort began its swift shift toward the holidays. This week, both the Town Square Gazebo and the Main Street, U.S.A., Station of the Disneyland Railroad closed to guests as Disney decorators moved in to prepare the park for its winter celebration. The closures are temporary, and both areas are expected to reopen by the end of the weekend.

The Disneyland Railroad, which circles the park and offers views of several themed lands, typically operates from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. During this brief closure, the steam train continues to run but will not stop at Main Street, U.S.A., Station. Guests can instead board or exit the train at the Frontierland Depot or Discoveryland Station.

X (formerly Twitter) user @DLPReport shared photos of the area on Monday, showing the train station and gazebo surrounded by construction walls and iron gates. Signs posted in both French and English inform visitors that “This Train Station is closed” and direct them to alternative boarding points. Another notice tells guests to use the Frontierland Depot or Discoveryland Station to access the Disneyland Railroad.

🔧 Walls are up around the Town Square Gazebo as the annual Halloween-to-Christmas switchover begins. Main Street Station is closed (to hide installation of the Winter Wonderland) until the weekend. Discoveryland Station is picking up the slack.

The closure leaves just two operational train stations at Disneyland Park (Paris) for now, as the Fantasyland Station has remained closed since 2020 due to staffing shortages. That location was later converted into a Mickey Mouse meet-and-greet area, though it’s also temporarily unavailable due to a refurbishment. For now, Mickey is greeting guests and signing autographs inside the Studio D theater’s pre-show area.

Once the holiday installation is complete, the Main Street, U.S.A., Disneyland Railroad Station and Town Square Gazebo will reopen, fully decked out for the park’s Christmas festivities.
