Disneyland Reveals Overhaul of Original Adventureland To Close Out 2026
Construction has arrived in one of Disneyland Park’s oldest lands, with new barriers going up in Adventureland just as 2026 heads toward its final stretch.
Adventureland Gets Walled Off
Guests visiting Disneyland Paris Resort on August 24 encountered a surprise: portions of the original Adventureland area are now blocked by construction walls. X user @PixiedustDLP captured the change in a post on the platform formerly known as Twitter, writing:

The barriers, done up in brown, gray, and beige tones, cut off a walkway on the side of Adventureland nearest Sleeping Beauty Castle. A sign posted on one wall reads, in both English and French: “This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”
That message is the only clue Disneyland Paris Resort has offered so far. The resort hasn’t detailed exactly what is being refurbished, which aligns with how Disney typically handles smaller-scale construction projects that don’t force attraction closures or significantly disrupt guest flow.
The Rest of the Resort Is Also Transforming
The changes in Adventureland are just one piece of a much larger construction push happening across Disneyland Paris Resort. On the other side of the esplanade, the former Walt Disney Studios Park — rebranded as Disney Adventure World — is actively building out new attractions, including a Lion King (1994)-themed log flume ride and Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, inspired by Up (2009) and expected to open in 2027.
The European Disney vacation destination also dropped a bigger reveal at D23 Expo 2026: Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain will close permanently in 2027, making way for Walt Disney Imagineers to restore the coaster to its original steampunk concept, Space Mountain – De la Terre à la Lune, soundtrack included.
