ICE at Disneyland: Guests Fear Detainment During Theme Park Visits
Disneyland Resort visitors are expressing fear about potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations during upcoming Southern California theme park events. Warnings have spread among runDisney participants that ICE may target the January 29 through February 1 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, raising concerns that the agency’s presence could lead to the detainment of guests and Disney cast members.
Last Summer’s Viral Warnings
Disneyland Resort faced viral scrutiny last summer when TikTok videos alleged ICE officers were stationed near the parking garage, stopping Disney cast members from reporting for work. The videos warned guests to avoid the Southern California resort, accumulating millions of views and forcing Disney to respond publicly.

Disney issued an official statement denying ICE’s presence on Anaheim property and confirming the resort was operating normally. Still, ICE activity throughout Southern California has demonstrably impacted Disneyland Resort tourism. International travelers and domestic guests have canceled vacations, citing either protest against immigration enforcement policies or fear of encountering ICE during their trips.
The Minneapolis killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents intensified public anxiety about the agency’s operations and use of force.
Marathon Weekend Raises Alarm
Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend runs January 29 through February 1, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to Southern California for three races: a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon. The race courses combine Disney property with public Anaheim streets, creating multiple locations where ICE could potentially operate.

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @park_journey—an experienced runDisney participant—claims to have observed undercover ICE agents during previous Disneyland races. They warned that this weekend, agents won’t attempt to hide their presence.
“A reminder to anybody running Disneyland half next weekend. ICE has been present at the past few Disneyland races as we run though Anaheim, although they’ve tried to hide. They will not be hiding this weekend. It’s up to each of us to let them know they aren’t welcome. #NoIce,” the runner posted.

Disneyland Resort has not addressed the latest warnings about potential ICE presence during the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. The warnings come one week after ICE established a new detention facility near Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida.
