Disneyland Bulldozes Pixar Area Overnight, Guests Arrive at Changed Park
A surprising overnight change has caught Disneyland Resort guests off guard. When visitors arrived at the Southern California Disney parks this weekend, they were met with an overnight transformation in the Toy Story Parking Area.
Disneyland Resort unexpectedly closed a portion of the Toy Story Parking Area, the furthest parking location for Disney Park guests. The parking lot, which typically accommodates a large volume of cars, was partially blocked off while crews ground and repaved much of it.
On Sunday, a Disneyland Resort guest named u/kadsworld shared a photo to Reddit, showing that two-thirds of the Pixar Pals Parking Area was “torn up.”
Toy Story Lot construction
“Just a heads up – they’re re-paving the Pixar lot,” the Disney Park guest noted. “Last night 2/3 of the main section in front of the loading area was torn up.”
Other visitors confirmed similar experiences, with some mentioning they had already seen the changes underway earlier in the week. One Redditor, u/CertainManagement552, mentioned, “Ya, been like this for a few days.”
“I think this started last Friday,” u/Neat-Jacket-6861 wrote. “We walked in at 8 am when grinding the first section. By 1 am they were finishing the paving. When we got back to the lot, was impressed!”
The Toy Story Parking Area remains open for business, and Disney Park guests can still use it, albeit with limited access. However, Disneyland Resort has not yet issued any public details about when the work will be finished or what the final outcome will look like.
As this project continues, guests will likely see similar temporary disruptions in parts of the Toy Story Parking Area, though the impact on parking accessibility appears minimal. It’s unclear whether Disneyland Resort will do similar work in the Pixar Pals and Mickey and Friends Parking Structures.
