Disneyland Begins Major Comeback With Ride Reopenings
Disneyland has been in a bit of a rebuilding phase lately, and if you’ve visited recently, you’ve probably felt it. Certain areas didn’t have the same energy, and some of your go-to attractions just weren’t available. But that’s starting to turn around in a big way this month, with several key rides finally reopening.

It’s not just one ride coming back either. This is more of a steady return that helps bring entire sections of the parks back to life.
Pixar Pier Gets Its Energy Back
Over at Disney California Adventure, Pixar Pier has taken one of the bigger hits when it comes to closures. Even though there’s still plenty to do, losing a couple of attractions at the same time changes the feel of the whole area.
That starts to shift with the reopening of Toy Story Midway Mania on April 24. This is one of those rides that people don’t just ride once—they come back to it throughout the day trying to beat their score. It keeps crowds moving and gives guests something interactive to jump into when wait times climb elsewhere.
Then, just over a month later, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind returns on May 31. It’s a smaller attraction, but it fills an important role. Families with younger kids rely on rides like this, and its absence has been noticeable. Once it’s back, Pixar Pier will feel much more complete again, especially heading into summer.
A Classic Disneyland Ride Returns
Meanwhile, Disneyland Park is also getting one of its staples back.
Jungle Cruise is reopening on April 24 after being down for refurbishment. This ride isn’t just popular—it’s part of the rhythm of Adventureland. When it’s closed, the entire area feels a little more crowded, and nearby wait times tend to climb.

With it returning, guests will have another dependable attraction to balance out their day. It’s also one of those rides that fits into almost any plan, whether you’re rope dropping or just looking for something to do in the afternoon.
Still a Work in Progress
Even with these reopenings, Disneyland isn’t completely back to full strength just yet.
Some attractions are still closed without clear reopening timelines, including Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and the Disneyland Monorail. On top of that, Silly Symphony Swings is about to close, which means there will still be a few gaps in the lineup.

So while things are improving, you’re still looking at a mix of openings and closures depending on when you visit.
Timing Your Visit
If you’re planning a trip, timing could make a difference.
Late April gives you access to both Toy Story Midway Mania and Jungle Cruise again, which is a solid improvement right away. But if you wait until June, you’ll also have Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind back, making Pixar Pier feel much more complete.
Either way, the parks are clearly heading in the right direction. After a stretch of closures, Disneyland is starting to feel more like itself again—and this month is a big step toward that.
