Walt Disney World has added four hotel-area construction projects to an already crowded refurbishment calendar, bringing new warnings for guests staying at Saratoga Springs, Yacht and Beach Club, Fort Wilderness, and Animal Kingdom Villas–Kidani Village.
None of the resorts is closing. However, the consequences range from daytime construction noise and altered walking routes to a five-day transportation interruption. At Kidani Village, the disruption goes considerably further: the main entrance and lobby will temporarily close, check-in will move, and multiple guest amenities will become unavailable in phases.
For travelers with late-summer or fall reservations, this is one construction schedule worth comparing against their dates before arrival.
Saratoga Springs Adds Its Front Entrance to the Work List
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa already has several projects underway. Work has been occurring around the Treehouse Villas, while The Turf Club Lounge and The Turf Club Bar & Grill are receiving attention on separate schedules.
Disney’s latest Saratoga Springs refurbishment advisory also places areas of the porte cochere—the resort’s covered arrival entrance—under refurbishment through fall 2026. Disney warns that guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours.
The porte cochere work does not currently carry an additional closure notice, but it expands the visible footprint of construction into the resort’s primary arrival area. Guests arriving by car or Disney transportation could encounter a less polished welcome than promotional photographs suggest.
The broader resort project also includes alternating closures at the Turf Club locations and the temporary closure of Lake Buena Vista Golf Course through October. Inside the Magic previously examined how multiple Disney World hotel refurbishments could overlap with existing reservations.
Yacht and Beach Club Guests Temporarily Lose Their Boat Dock
The most direct transportation consequence arrives at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
From August 17 through August 21, 2026, the FriendShip Boat dock serving the neighboring resorts is scheduled to close for maintenance. The boats normally provide water transportation to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
During the interruption, Disney plans to provide direct bus transportation to Hollywood Studios. EPCOT remains accessible using the walkway to International Gateway. Guests could also walk to EPCOT’s Skyliner station and ride to Hollywood Studios, although that option introduces a transfer at Caribbean Beach Resort.
The closure lasts only five days, but transportation is one of the reasons travelers choose these EPCOT-area hotels. Guests arriving during that window should not assume their usual boat routine will be available. Fort Wilderness Detours Could Add Time to Resort Travel
At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, soil-erosion prevention work is underway along the sidewalk on Big Pine Trail through mid-October.
Disney has not announced any amenity closures connected to the project. Nevertheless, guests may see or hear daytime work, and alternate routes could be introduced when roadway detours are necessary.
That distinction matters at Fort Wilderness. The sprawling resort covers hundreds of acres, and getting between campsites, cabins, transportation stops, and recreation areas already requires more planning than walking through a conventional hotel.
A detour that appears minor on a notice can become more consequential when guests are trying to reach a boat, bus, dining reservation, or theme park opening. Kidani Village Faces the Most Disruptive Refurbishment
The project most likely to change the actual hotel experience begins August 17 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas–Kidani Village.
From August 17 through October 9, the main lobby and primary entrance will be closed, with check-in relocated to the Palace Library. Johari Treasures will close from August 17 through August 28.
The north lobby corridor is then scheduled to close from September 28 through October 9. During that phase, the second-floor north lobby elevators and outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable.
A separate south-corridor phase runs from October 26 through November 6. Disney says Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and outdoor terrace observation deck will be unavailable during that period.
These are temporary closures, not evidence that Kidani Village itself is shutting down. Still, they touch the arrival experience, recreation, shopping, laundry access, vertical transportation, and one of the resort’s observation spaces.
Guests do not necessarily need to cancel. They should, however, decide how much those spaces matter to their vacation. Anyone traveling with mobility considerations, relying on the laundry room, or planning significant downtime at the resort should contact Disney before arrival and confirm the latest routes and operating schedule.
Construction is often the price of keeping an enormous resort operational. This time, though, the burden will not be distributed equally. At some hotels, guests may hear daytime work. At Kidani Village, they will need to relearn how parts of their resort function.
