Disney theme parks are notorious for their long list of rides and attractions. However, history plays a large part in the Disney theme park experience, with both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California offering guests some truly immersive, historical, and educational adventures.

Disney’s Hall of Presidents, which resides in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, best exemplifies this.

Tucked away in the Magic Kingdom across from the legendary Haunted Mansion, The Hall of Presidents is perhaps Walt Disney World’s most revered and historic experience to date. Despite opening several decades ago, the attraction remains a poignant and defining experience, perhaps one of the most important ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Up to 700 guests can enter the  25-minute-long show and experience American history like never before. The show is centered around several key American events and is capped off by an incredible display of engineering. All 46 U.S. Presidents are represented in Audio Animtronic form, giving guests a lifelike representation of past and current American leaders.

With each new U.S. election, a new president is added, with President Joe Biden being the most recent addition.

Unfortunately, this attraction will briefly close this summer, possibly affecting guests’ vacation.

According to the official Walt Disney World Resort calendar, The Hall of Presidents is slated to close this June. The attraction will go offline on June 9 and will reopen on June 11. The reason for the closure has not been revealed, but with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening in just a few weeks, the attraction may be used for a media event.

Due to the political nature of The Hall of Presidents, the attraction can sometimes be disputed by guests. In the past, more than a few fans have made their political affiliation known as each U.S. President is introduced by name. The addition of Donald Trump in 2016 caused quite a bit of controversy, though things have certainly settled down.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the newest ride to open at Walt Disney World. It replaces Disney’s iconic Splash Mountain, which operated for nearly four decades. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a brand new journey alongside the titular Princess Tiana, offering an experience based on Disney’s 2009 film The Princess and the Frog.

The Hall of Presidents is far from the only American-centric attraction at Walt Disney World, with EPCOT featuring even more experiences based on U.S. history. Shows like The American Adventure continue to inspire guests young and old, and the American pavilion in World Showcase offers guests delicious traditional American cuisine and an immersive atmosphere that’s ripe for exploration.
