Disney World Updates Popular Resort Perk With Higher Price Tag

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel has always come with small conveniences that longtime fans appreciate. Early park entry. Proximity to the parks. That unmistakable Disney atmosphere the moment you step off the bus. And for many families, one of the simplest traditions of all: grabbing a Rapid Refillable Mug on day one.

Now, Disney has officially updated that popular resort perk — and it comes with a slightly higher price tag for 2026.

The New Price Guests Will See

The Rapid Refillable Mug recently increased from $21.99 to $22.99. It’s a $1 jump, but in today’s Disney economy, even modest adjustments don’t go unnoticed.

The $22.99 price now applies across all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, whether you’re staying at a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe property. For a family of four, that’s nearly $92 before you’ve taken your first sip.

This increase follows a pattern guests have seen across the resort over the past couple of years. Ticket prices fluctuate by date. Lightning Lane pricing varies depending on demand. Snacks and merchandise creep up incrementally. Rather than sweeping hikes, Disney tends to adjust costs in small, steady steps — and the refillable mug now joins that list.

A Fresh New Look for 2026

The pricing update arrives alongside a full design refresh.

Disney has officially phased out the previous Rapid Refillable Mug design and replaced it with a new version featuring colorful Pixar characters paired with classic Walt Disney World park icons. It’s bright, playful, and clearly meant to double as both a functional item and a souvenir.

Guests can choose from four handle and lid color options — orange, blue, pink, and purple — which helps families keep track of whose mug belongs to whom.

The rollout appears complete, meaning you’re unlikely to find older versions still in circulation at resort food courts.

How the Mug Still Works

Functionally, nothing major has changed.

The Rapid Refillable Mug works at Walt Disney World Resort hotels only. You can refill it at self-service beverage stations inside resort quick-service dining locations across property — not just at the hotel where you purchased it.

It does not provide unlimited refills inside the theme parks, which continues to surprise first-time visitors.

Each mug activates for a limited window — up to 14 days — which covers the length of most typical vacations. After that, the internal chip deactivates.

If you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, the mug is still included for each member of your party.

Is It Still Worth It?

That depends on your vacation style.

If you take mid-day breaks at your resort, grab coffee in the mornings, and refill soda or sports drinks regularly, the mug can still provide solid value over the course of a weeklong stay. If you rope drop the parks and don’t return until late at night, you may not use it enough to justify the purchase.

Either way, the change is official.

The Rapid Refillable Mug remains one of the most recognizable Walt Disney World resort traditions — it just costs a little more in 2026.
