Walt Disney World is undergoing some of its biggest transformations in years, with expansions planned for Magic Kingdom and a complete overhaul of DinoLand in Animal Kingdom. While these upcoming changes bring excitement, several attractions are currently closed, and Disney has not provided concrete reopening dates.
If you’re planning a trip soon, you’ll want to take note of these closures, as some could last well into 2026. Here’s what’s closed and what we know about each attraction’s future.
EPCOT Closures
- Test Track – This popular thrill ride is undergoing a complete reimagining in partnership with Chevrolet. Disney has announced a late summer reopening, but no firm date has been given. Guests looking for alternative thrills at EPCOT can check out Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or Mission: SPACE.
Magic Kingdom Closures
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – A major refurbishment is underway for this classic coaster, with Disney stating it will return in 2026.
- Astro Orbiter – This Tomorrowland attraction is currently closed, with Disney saying it will return in summer 2025, though no specific date has been set.
- Hall of Presidents – Following Donald Trump’s re-election, the attraction is closed as Disney updates the show to feature his new Audio-Animatronic. It is expected to reopen later in 2025.
What This Means for Your Visit
Disney has not provided exact reopening dates for these attractions, so guests should plan accordingly. While closures are always disappointing, they often lead to much-needed refurbishments or new experiences. As Disney prepares for its next big wave of expansions, these changes may just be the beginning.
