Crowds Take Over Disney World, Video Reveals Abject Chaos
Spring break has officially descended on Walt Disney World Resort, and with it, some of the most intense crowds the parks have seen in recent years. A viral video shared by TikTok user @hollypalombotravel reveals what many guests are experiencing: chaos. The footage shows an overwhelming line of guests stretching back at Disney’s Pop Century Resort as they wait for the Disney Skyliner to transport them to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, all an hour before Early Theme Park Entry began.
Walt Disney World Resort is no stranger to crowd surges during busy times of the year, but spring break and the period between Christmas and New Year’s consistently bring some of the highest crowd levels. This year is no exception, as guests report seeing the parks and transportation systems overwhelmed even before most schools have gone on break. With over a month to go until Easter, many loyal Walt Disney World Resort fans are fleeing the parks as crowds increase.
In the video, @hollypalombotravel explains that arriving at the Disney Skyliner station an hour before Early Theme Park Entry seemed like plenty of time, but the reality was far different. The TikTok user shared:
“I’ve stayed here multiple times and never had to wait this far back.”
@hollypalombotravel Getting to your resort transportation 1 hour before early entry might not be enough this spring break! Plan ahead, folks. #popcentury #springbreak #skyliner #disney
The video quickly gained traction, with over 300,000 views and thousands of likes and comments from others who had similar experiences. For many, this sight of long lines and overcrowded transportation systems is enough to keep them from visiting Walt Disney World Resort during spring break.
“You couldn’t pay me to go during spring break,” said @mariafab23.
“Thank god we’re going in May!!” @kimallison25 replied. “Pulling my kids from school.”
However, despite the chaos, the TikTok user found a way to improve the experience. By arriving 35 minutes earlier, at 6:55 a.m., they had a much smoother time. The Disney Park guest shared another video showing families already lined up in the dark, waiting for the Disney Skyliner to open at 7:30 a.m.
@hollypalombotravel Replying to @nanist0v4r If you are staying at a Skyliner resort here is a good idea of the line at 6:55! The Skyliner technically opens at 7:30. #springbreak #disney #popcentury #skyliner #epcot #flowerandgardenfestival
Arriving early is essential for visitors who want to avoid being caught in the frenzy of spring break crowds. The Disney Skyliner can get very crowded before rope drop, especially at the station shared by Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. By getting in line early, guests can ensure a much smoother experience when heading to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Early Entry.
