Breaking: Disney Dining Reservation System Goes Down as Beak and Barrel Reservations Open
If you’re a Disney fan who’s into planning every aspect of your trip to Disney World, and honestly, who isn’t one of these people, you know the fervor that surrounds waking up at 6 a.m. EST on 60 days before your trip just to get a dining reservation at that one special spot. It’s one of the long-held traditions of any Disney World vacation, and it’s a reminder that you are getting ever so close to your trip.
However, if you woke up this morning hoping to be one of the first Disney World guests to get a reservation at the Beak and Barrel, the new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed park at Magic Kingdom, you were in for a rude awakening. On the morning that reservations open for the new bar, the Walt Disney World dining reservation system on its website crashed.
The system went down shortly before 6 a.m. EST when reservations were set to open, and as of writing, it is still down. Guests would have been able to make reservations for the Beak and Barrel when it opened on August 29, and guests could have made their reservations for the new bar during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party.
Disney has not indicated when its reservation system will be back up, but frustrated guests posted on social media that they “woke up for this?”
There is a palpable excitement among Disney fans for Magic Kingdom’s first bar, especially one themed after the beloved ride and film series Pirates of the Caribbean. On its website, Disney World describes the new establishment as:
Eat, drink, and be entertained at The Beak and Barrel, a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind—from seasoned swashbucklers to budding buccaneers. Bring yer best mates and join our crew for a jolly good time full of flavor and fun!
Despite Walt Disney’s ban on alcohol at Disneyland, the parks have and continue to make big bucks off the sale of booze, just ask anyone who’s been to EPCOT on a Saturday night. The Beak and Barrel joins GEO-82 at EPCOT as the second adults-only bar to open at Disney World this year.
For now, the reservations for the Beak and Barrel are impossible to get, but hopefully, Disney will fix its reservation system soon.

What do you mean by adults only bar?
I mean, obviously I understand the meaning of adults only but aren’t children welcome at both of these places?
Geo-82 is truly adults only. Beak and Barrel however, is not, its family friendly. So I don’t know if I should trust all the advise on your blog. Maybe you should update it, and do better research.
