The clock is ticking on one of Walt Disney World’s biggest family offerings of 2026.
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is officially nearing its end, with Disney confirming that the limited-time celebration will run only through September 8, 2026. The summer event has brought extra character interactions, activities, entertainment, and family-focused experiences to several corners of Walt Disney World.

For families visiting over the next few weeks, there’s still time to enjoy it. But guests arriving after September 8 will find that Disney World has already started moving away from its summer lineup.
And at least one popular Magic Kingdom offering isn’t expected to stick around.
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER Is Almost Finished
Disney introduced Cool KIDS’ SUMMER as a way to give families additional things to experience throughout their vacations.
Rather than putting everything in one park, Disney spread the summer fun across Walt Disney World. Guests could find character activities, new and updated attractions, resort hotel experiences, and additional water park fun.
Disney specifically promoted opportunities for families to dance, play, and spend time with Disney characters. Select Disney Resort hotels also received scheduled character appearances as part of the summer celebration.
The idea was simple: give families more reasons to slow down between the major rides and attractions.
However, Disney always presented Cool KIDS’ SUMMER as a limited-time event.
Now its final date is approaching.
Disney’s official summer guide confirms that Cool KIDS’ SUMMER ends September 8.
Disney has not announced a 2027 return.
Jessie’s Roundup Is Also Preparing To Leave
One of the more noticeable additions from Cool KIDS’ SUMMER can be found inside Magic Kingdom.
Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue! Presented by Babybel transformed the Diamond Horseshoe into a Toy Story-inspired family hoedown.
The experience gives families something different from a traditional attraction. Kids can dance and participate in activities with Jessie and her friends, while everyone gets the added benefit of spending time indoors.

During a hot Florida summer, that air-conditioned break can be especially useful for families with younger children.
Unfortunately, Jessie’s Roundup is nearing its end as well.
The experience is expected to close as Disney prepares the Diamond Horseshoe for a new dining experience.
That gives guests another reason to pay attention to the September deadline.
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER Was Bigger Than One Experience
Disney used Cool KIDS’ SUMMER to promote family fun throughout the resort.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the summer lineup included Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, where families can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo. Disney also included Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, Kali River Rapids, and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! in its summer guide.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios offered its own mix of experiences, including Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and the new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run mission featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.

EPCOT joined the summer lineup with GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall, while Magic Kingdom offered Jessie’s Roundup.
Not every attraction promoted as part of Disney’s summer campaign will disappear when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER ends. Many are permanent or separate experiences.
The seasonal extras, however, are another story.
September 8 Is Becoming an Important Date
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER isn’t the only Disney World offering reaching a stopping point around September 8.
Typhoon Lagoon begins a seasonal closure on September 8, while Blizzard Beach remains available. H2O Glow Nights wraps up even earlier, with its final 2026 event scheduled for September 5.
That makes early September a clear turning point on the Disney World calendar.
For Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, though, the biggest unanswered question involves what happens next.

Disney hasn’t confirmed that the celebration will return in 2027.
Disney could bring the event back, change its lineup, or replace it with something different. Until the company makes another announcement, guests only have the current 2026 dates to work with.
That means anyone hoping to experience Cool KIDS’ SUMMER should plan accordingly.
September 8 is coming quickly, and once it arrives, Disney’s family-focused summer celebration will officially come to an end.
