Disney Passholders Get Final Perk Before Rules Tighten – You Only Have a Month To Claim
Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholders, take note. Park Pass reservation rules are changing at Magic Kingdom Park next month, but before it gets harder to visit, Disney is giving its most loyal guests one final exclusive perk.
On June 25, Disney Dining reported that Magic Kingdom Park Pass reservations had sold out for July 20, 2025, the debut of the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away electrical parade. (Theme park reservations are still available for regular ticket holders.) Walt Disney World Resort’s first year-round nighttime parade since the most recent Main Street Electrical Parade run concluded in 2016, the new entertainment offering is expected to draw large crowds to the Magic Kingdom.
Beginning July 20, Annual Passholders must make theme park reservations to visit Magic Kingdom Park on any day at any time. Walt Disney World Resort had previously loosened the Park Pass reservation system, allowing unlimited access on select “good-to-go days” and visits without theme park reservations on most days after 2:00 p.m. Annual Passholders can still make reservations for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, then park hop to the Magic Kingdom after 2:00 p.m., provided the park hasn’t hit capacity.
Now, weeks before the new Annual Passholder restrictions arrive, Walt Disney World Resort is offering its regular visitors an exclusive benefit at Magic Kingdom Park. On Wednesday, Disney PhotoPass announced via Instagram (@disneyphotopass) that the Annual Passholder-exclusive Maleficent photo-op is now available at the Magic Kingdom. Disney PhotoPass photographers will capture guests holding Maleficent’s iconic golden staff and digitally add her pet raven, Diablo, on top of it.
Feeling a little villainous? @wdwannualpassholders can enjoy this Maleficent-inspired photo op now through July 31 at #MagicKingdom as part of V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days 🖤📸

Annual Passholders can find this photo-op in Fantasyland, against the Cinderella Castle walls closest to Pinocchio Village Haus. It’s available from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
The photo-op is available through July 31 as part of the V.I.Passholder Summer Days offering throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Other offerings include exclusive Annual Passholder food and beverage items and merchandise.
