This morning, Walt Disney World updated its Airport Luggage Transfer page to show Delta Air Lines as a participating carrier. Delta. One of the most-flown airlines into Orlando. The carrier that a huge chunk of Disney World visitors use every single week. It was right there on the official website, listed alongside American, Southwest, and United like it had always belonged.
And then at 2:20 PM, Disney removed it and said it was added in error.
So if you saw the update this morning and immediately started mentally replanning your trip, we understand. We really do. But as of right now, Delta is not part of the program. Here is the full story, including what the service actually does and why it matters enough that Delta flyers are going to keep watching this page.
What Disney Said When They Pulled It
A Disney spokesperson confirmed that Delta Air Lines was added to the Airport Luggage Transfer website in error earlier today and is not currently supported by the program. The page now carries this note: “Additional airlines could be added soon. Please check back for the most up-to-date information.”
That same language has shown up before major expansions to this program. Make of that what you will.
Okay But What Is This Service and Why Do People Care
Fair question if you have not heard of it. The Airport Luggage Transfer service is one of those Disney perks that sounds almost too good to be true until you actually use it, at which point you will never go back to hauling your own bags through MCO ever again.
Here is what it does. You check your bags with your airline at your home airport as normal. You land at Orlando International. And instead of standing at baggage claim watching the carousel go around while your kids lose their minds from the flight, you walk straight past all of it and get on transportation to Walt Disney World. Your bags show up at your hotel. You do not touch them again until you call Luggage Assistance from your room.
On the way home, you drop your bags at the resort lobby before you leave, skip the airline check-in counter at the airport entirely, and pick everything up at baggage claim when you land back home. Your last morning at Disney World is not spent dragging suitcases through a parking garage. It is spent doing whatever you want until your Uber shows up.
That is the service. That is why people care. For families with young kids especially, the difference between a trip where you manage your own luggage and a trip where you do not is significant in a way that is hard to explain until you have experienced both.
The Part Where You Figure Out If You Qualify
The service is currently available to guests flying American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, or United Airlines into and out of Orlando International Airport, and staying at one of Disney’s five Value Resort hotels.
Those hotels are Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
One thing that does not get talked about enough: if you are booked at a Moderate or Deluxe Resort for most of your trip, you can transfer to a Value Resort for your final night and still access the departure service. It is a legitimate option and worth knowing about if you want the last-morning luggage freedom without being at a Value property the whole trip.
How Registration Actually Works
For arrivals, the registration window opens 30 days before your flight and closes 24 hours before departure. You need your Disney Resort confirmation number and your airline flight confirmation number. Fill out the form, get a confirmation email with a bag tracking link, and you are set. Register more than seven days out and luggage tags arrive in the mail. Register within seven days and no tags come, but the service still works. Drop your bags with the airline as normal, skip baggage claim at MCO, and contact Luggage Assistance at your hotel when you arrive. Bags can take up to four hours from your flight’s arrival to be delivered.
For departures, check in online with your airline 24 hours before your flight and pay any baggage fees through the airline’s app. Drop bags at Luggage Assistance in the resort lobby between 24 hours and four hours before departure. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Luggage Assistance runs 24 hours a day. Head to the airport, bypass check-in, and pick up your bags at your final destination. Tracking for outbound bags runs through your airline’s own app rather than the arrival link.
How This Program Even Got Here
This is not a service Disney launched fully formed. It started as a pilot at Pop Century in late March 2025, covering Southwest departures only. By April 2025 it had expanded to all five Value Resorts with an official name. Southwest arrivals came online in November 2025, completing the round-trip option. American Airlines and United Airlines were added in May 2026. Delta showed up on the website today for a few hours before being removed.
That timeline is worth paying attention to. Every few months, something new gets added. The program has grown steadily in one direction since it launched. Disney’s own website says more airlines are coming. Delta was either a preview or a mistake, and only Disney knows which one right now.
What Delta Flyers Should Actually Do
Keep checking. That is the honest answer. The Walt Disney World website is the only source that matters here, and the language on it right now is explicitly inviting guests to check back. If and when Delta is officially added, it will appear there first.
In the meantime, if you are flying American, Southwest, or United and staying at a Value Resort, register for this service before your trip. It is free, it works, and it genuinely changes the texture of arrival and departure days in a way that is worth the ten minutes of paperwork.
